Montana draw points, explained

Mixed point systems

Montana uses squared bonus points for most limited permits and licenses, including moose, sheep, goat, and deer and elk permits. Nonresidents also need a general combination license, which is drawn with a separate preference point system. The one thing that matters most: points only help in your first choice, and you must buy a point with your application each year you apply, or your saved points are not used.
